No invite for Sriramulu to join Cong: KPCC chief

Speculation was rife in political circles that the Congress was making moves to woo BJP leader B Sriramulu.

Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president Dinesh Gundu Rao, however, denied this. “Sriramulu was earlier with the Congress. He did well as a party worker. He even contested local elections. But inviting him to return to the party has not been discussed,” Rao told reporters.

“In fact, in the recent byelection to the Bellary Lok Sabha seat, we urged people to vote against Sriramulu and his aide Janardhan Reddy,” he pointed out.

On reports that Water Resources Minister D K Shivakumar had received a fresh notice by the Enforcement Directorate, Rao said it was a conspiracy. "Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP national president Amit Shah are misusing Central agencies. If Shivakumar has wronged, let him be arrested. But he shouldn’t be harrassed unnecessarily,” Rao said.
