Speaking to reporters after meeting the "Dharmadhikari" of Dharmasthala Dr D Veerendra Heggade here, he said the foundation stone would be laid at around 50 relocated areas within 10 to 12 days.

Houses are being built at a cost of Rs one lakh each for flood victims who lost their dwellings. "Within the next six months,we aim to complete the resettlement programme",he said.

Heggade said work has started on constructing 1,000 houses in Kongawada village on behalf of the Dharmasthala temple, as promised. Aid was pouring in from donors and additional houses would be built with this collection, he added.

The Houses are being built in areas identified by the Government.

From January, under the Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development project, Self Help Groups would be formed in flood hit areas, Heggade added.
