Rain continues to pound Mysuru, Shivamogga

 Incessant rainfall accompanied with strong winds and lightning lashed several parts of the district on Saturday.

Hosanagar, Sagar, Shikaripur received good spell of rain towards evening. The rain that started around 4:00 pm lasted till 8:00 pm. Power supply was disrupted in Hosanagar town as branches of trees fell on electric poles.

Houses located in low-lying areas were waterlogged in Shikaripur and Sagar towns. Some parts of  Thirthahalli, Sorab and Bhadravathi and Shivamogga also received rain. No casualties were reported.

Mysuru

Unseasonal showers continued to pound several parts of Mysuru region, with widespread rainfall reported for the second consecutive day, on Saturday.

According to the forecast by Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Cell (KSNMDC), showers are expected in the region for the next two days.

 Rainfall lasted for more than two hours in and around Mysuru city, inundating several low-lying areas. In Hassan, the intensity of rainfall was less as compared to Friday. Rains were widespread in Srirangapatna taluk in Mandya district, which received 89.1 mm during the day.
 Chamarajanagar district too received good showers with maximum rainfall recorded at Gundlupet taluk.
