Free flow of traffic on the NH-206 (Honnavar-Tumakuru) was affected when nine trees collapsed in a landslide due to heavy rains on Wednesday.
The highway was blocked near Jog Falls at a place called Joginamatha in Siddapura taluk. The resultant traffic jam lasted six hours while the clearing of the road was taking place.
The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), local police and forest department officials were finally successful in clearing the blockage and allowing vehicles to pass. Siddapura tahsildar was at the spot.
