Rain intensifies in Kodagu

 Rain intensified in Kodagu district on Saturday. Madikeri, Napoklu, Bhagamandala-Talacauvery, Virajpet, Srimangala, Shanthalli and surrounding areas experienced good rainfall. With the mist covering the Madikeri town, motorists had to use the headlight on during daytime while driving. The inflow of water to river Cauvery has increased.

The water level in Harangi reservoir stood at 2,858.48 feet. The inflow of water to the reservoir was 3,392 cusecs and about 3,700 cusecs water is released into the river.
Intermittent rain continued to lash Mangaluru. Though the region received heavy rain in the morning, it receded by afternoon. In the last 24 hours, Dakshina Kannada district received an average of 36.9 mm rainfall. Puttur received highest of 50 mm while Belthangady received 42.4 mm and Bantwal recorded a rainfall of 35.7 mm.
