Reddy leaves Chitradurga district to save BJP the blushes

Last Updated 28 April 2018, 14:14 IST

Former minister Janardhana Reddy has travelled to Bengaluru, in view of the visit of BJP president Amit Shah to the district on Sunday.

He has been put up at a farmhouse at Megalahatti in the taluk for the past few days so that he can campaign for his friend B Sriramulu, the BJP candidate from the Molakalmuru seat.

Reddy, a prime accused in the mining scam, has of late been seen with BJP leaders, including Yeddyurappa, in election meetings, much to the embarrassment of the party.

Shah has now instructed BJP leaders to stay away from the mining baron. The Ballari roadshow was cancelled so that BJP leaders can avoid being seen with Reddy's associates.
