RTE seat allotment may be late this year

Last Updated 02 March 2019, 17:40 IST

Students seeking admissions to schools under the Right to Education quota will see a delay in admissions this academic year as the second round of seat allotment will happen only towards the end of May.

The RTE process is anticipated to last even after the commencement of admissions. The calendar of events for admissions to schools has been announced by the department of public instructions on Saturday.

The demo of technology would take place on March 8 for RTE. March 12 is the last date for parents to raise objections against the list of schools where admissions would be granted under RTE quota.

Following this, the department is set to publish the available seats, school- and district-wise on March 15.

Application deadline

Applicants can take the trial for submission of applications from March 20 to April 15.

The admissions into schools will commence in the first week of May. The department will, prior to this, release the list of students eligible for RTE on April 25. The second round of admissions is due to take place between May 25 and 30.
