In separate letters to Minister for Railways Dinesh Trivedi and Minister of State for Railways K H Muniyappa, he noted that Dasara festival is being celebrated as "Naada Habba" from September 28 to October six.
The event attracts people from all over the world and is a major tourist attraction. The festival not only showcases the rich heritage and culture of Karnataka to the world but also helps in boosting the tourism sector in the region.
In view of the Dasara festival, a large number of tourists is likely to visit Mysore between today and October 10.
"In order to facilitate the visiting tourists from Mangalore and other coastal districts to travel to Mysore, I request you to run special daily trains from Mangalore to Mysore and back starting from September 26 to October 10 as a special case", Gowda said in the letter.
