School fee complaints: Government forms panels

The department of public instruction has constituted district-level committees to deal with complaints over school fees.

The block education officers have been instructed to open a counter to receive the complaints and forward the complaints on the same day to the district-level committee constituted for the purpose. Both parents and school managements are allowed to file their complaints.

According to the circular issued by the department, 42 committees have been constituted across the state to address the complaints related to school fee. The government recently directed the schools to collect only 70% of the last year’s tuition fee for the current academic year.

The committees have to conduct the inquiry into the complaints every Monday and issue a speaking order on the same day.
