N S Namrata, a student of Sandeepani English Medium High School, Aravind Nagar, has shared the third place in the SSLC examinations held in April this year.

She has scored 620 out of 625 marks. She has scored maximum marks in three subjects - Sanskrit-125, Social Science - 100 and Mathematics - 100. She has scored 99 in both Kannada and English and 97 in Science.

Her father, N K Sridhar, is serving as the assistant administrative officer at KSRP, Machenahalli and mother S D Sandhya is a clerk at Sahyadri Arts College.

Speaking to Deccan Herald over the phone, she said: “I am really thrilled by the result. Though I didn’t follow a strict time-table of study hours, I used to study for two to three hours per day. This apart, I had the urge to do well in SSLC examinations.

I used to play volleyball and throwball during leisure. There was no parental pressure. I will take up Science at the pre-university level. Students should study with the intention of improving their knowledge rather than scoring marks.”
