Shimoga receives moderate rainfall

Following the good spell of rain over the last one week in the catchment area of Linganamakki dam, the water level in the dam rose to 1812.55 feet against the maximum level of 1819 feet.


The inflow of water was 12,225 cusecs and the outflow was 357 cusecs. If the catchment area of the dam receives copious rain in the coming days, the dam will reach its brim and water will soon be released.

As a precautionary measure, the dam authorities have also asked people residing in areas close to the dam and river

Sharavathy to move to safer places.

Apart from this, rain receded in several parts of the district, on Thursday.
As moderate rain lashed some parts of the district in the morning, farmers could to carry on agriculture activities.  
 
Water released

The water level in Bhadra reservoir remained at 185.20 feet against the maximum level of 186 feet.

The inflow of water into the reservoir stood at 8,255 cusecs and almost the same quantum was being released from the dam.
