Siddaramaiah, who was here to attend Congress Working Committee meeting, closeted with Rahul for more than half an hour.

During the meeting, the former CM is learnt to have discussed the need for filling vacant cabinet berths in JD(S)-Congress government and appointing chairmen for boards and corporations.

Siddaramaiah, who is also the chairman of the co-ordination committee, appraised the developments in the organisation after the formation of the coalition government.

Siddaramaiah's meeting with Rahul gained significance after several state leaders cautioning the party top brass about the possible erosion of the support base of the organisation in the state, mostly in South Karnataka, due to the alliance with JD (S) in the coming Lok Sabha polls.
