Siddaramaiah's egotistical stance affected Mahadayi solution: Shah

BJP National President Amit Shah alleged that the nagging Mahadayi river water sharing dispute remained unresolved due the egotistical stance taken by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

Addressing an election public rally at the taluk sports ground, Savadatti, Belagavi district, Shah claimed that there was a tsunami in favour of BJP; not just a wave.

AICC President Rahul Gandhi had shifted all the responsibility on to the shoulders of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah leaving the Congress leaders to fend for themselves. "Can those who quit the battlefield ever win?" Shah remarked sarcastically.

Rahul Gandhi has been demanding Prime Minister Narendra Modi accounts. The BJP does need not give the AICC chief accounts. "Instead we remain accountable to the people of the state. Within six months of the BJP government being formed in Karnataka, measures will be taken to resolve the Mahadayi imbroglio. Mahadayi water will flow into Karnataka for sure," he assured.

He accused Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of having an egotistic nature following which there was no cordial relations with his counterparts in other states. "As a result of this the Mahadayi issue remains unresolved," Shah added.

Shah also criticised that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah respected controversial Tipu Sultan more than local icons like Rani Chennamma, Belawadi Mallamma, Sangolli Rayanna. Tipu Jayanti is also celebrated in Pakistan, Shah claimed.

The BJP assured that on coming to power measures would be taken to settle all the sugarcane growers' issues within 100 days, and measures would also be taken to nab and send the killers of Hindu activists to jail.

Amit Shah who is canvassing in favour of the BJP candidates in the northern Karnataka is scheduled to hold roadshows in Belagavi South Assembly Constituency and in Belagavi North Assembly Constituency and address a public rally in Ramdurg Constituency.
