Sixth pay panel: Govt awaits EC permission

The state government has written to the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) seeking its permission to notify rules for implementing the Sixth Pay Commission recommendations.

On March 2, the Cabinet approved the recommendations to effect revisions to salaries, allowances and pension of state government employees. However, before the recommendations were implemented, the election model code of conduct came into effect. The government, which wrote to the CEO on April 3, is awaiting its permission to notify the rules, states a press release.
