Speculations rife as BSY meets DKS

Last Updated 28 November 2018, 19:47 IST

BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa met Water Resources Minister D K Shivakumar at the latter’s residence in Bengaluru on Wednesday leading to speculation in political circles.

Yeddyurappa was accompanied by his son B Y Raghavendra, who recently won the Shivamogga Lok Sabha seat.

Shivakumar and his younger brother Bengaluru (Rural) MP D K Suresh have been accusing the BJP of misusing the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to get them arrested.

Policital rumour mill had it that it was a larger game plan of the BJP to get the brothers into the saffron fold. Yeddyurappa and Shivakumar have been at loggerheads from time to time and Wednesday’s meeting did raise eyebrows.

However, Yeddyurappa said no special significance should be attached to the meeting. “We had come to discuss irrigation projects in our home district of Shivamogga,” he told
reporters.

He said Shivakumar responded positively to their request that some projects be expedited.

Asked whether any politics was discussed, Yeddyurappa said “everything cannot be revealed to the media.”

Shivakumar said he and Yeddyurappa had always been “the best of friends.”
