State to add 2,000 MW of power by July

 Power problems in Karnataka are set to be history with the government promising that it is working on a solution which will be ready within the next one year.

“We will be adding 2,000 MW additional power by next 7-8 months. We are working and trying to see that all the power problems of the State are resolved by July 2016,” Karnataka Large and Medium Industries and Tourism Minister R V Deshpande said while addressing prospective investors at the Invest Karnataka 2016 roadshow in Mumbai on Thursday.

“We will be transparent and quick in decision-making so that more and more investors can look towards our State for investments,” he added. Deshpande invited more industries to set up base in the State so that they can make a fortune.

“All those who have invested in Karnataka have not regretted the move. Those who have not invested should come and invest here and make a fortune,” Deshpande said. Karnataka is aiming for investments worth Rs 5 lakh crore and the State has already managed to attract investments worth Rs 1.5-lakh crore in the last two years.
