Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Ananthkumar Hegde on Wednesday blasted officers for attending progress review meeting without preparation.

"Do you think we conduct the meeting as we have no other work to do? Why are you so casual for the government work? Officers should complete their homework before attending the meeting," he said.

Hedge chaired a meeting to review the progress made by various departments in the implementation of government schemes at ZP auditorium.

The Minister lost cool when the officers told him that out of 37 projects, 34 of them were being implemented in Khanapur and Kittur divisions.

"You have been repeating the same answer for the last four years. Ask your executive engineer to come to the meeting. None of you should leave the venue till he comes for the meeting," he directed.

Deputy commissioner S S Nakul told the meeting that 851 projects had been recommended for the Uttara Kannada Lok Sabha constituency limits since 2014. Permission had been given to 838 projects, while the plan was ready for 95 % projects. About 281 projects were being implemented.
