Next year’s Bengaluru International Film Festival will have Mahatma Gandhi as its theme, Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy said on Tuesday.
Kumaraswamy made the announcement at an inter-departmental meeting to discuss the state government’s programmes for the year-long celebrations to commemorate the 150 birth anniversary of Gandhi.
As part of the celebrations, quizzes and seminars will be organised at schools and colleges across the state throughout the year. He said Karnataka will have a tableau on Gandhi presiding over the Indian National Congress session in Belagavi in 1924 as its theme for the Republic Day parade next year. Gandhi Bhavans will be constructed in all districts, he added.
