BJP MLA Madal Virupakshappa facing bribery charges deposes before Lokayukta cops

The interrogation will revolve around the cash haul in KSDL office and MLA's house

Channagiri MLA K Madal Virupakshappa appeared before the Lokayukta police on Thursday.

He had been given conditional bail by the High Court, asking him to appear before the investigating officer (IO) within 48 hours.

Virupakshappa appeared before the IO, deputy superintendent of police Anthony John J K, and his team around 3.30 pm. The police questioned Virupakshappa under the supervision of Ashok K V, superintendent of police, Bengaluru.

Before coming, Virupakshappa visited his advocate at his office on Infantry Road around 12 pm.

According to sources, the police had prepared a questionnaire for Virupakshappa and questioned him. He was questioned for four hours. According to sources, he is not cooperating with the investigation, so he was served another notice to appear on Friday. He left the Lokayukta office around 7.45 pm.

Virupakshappa is accused number 1 in the trap case in which his son Prashanth Kumar M V was caught red-handed, taking a bribe of Rs 40 lakh on March 2. Prashanth is accused number 2.
