Pejawar Mutt pontiff and trustee of Sri Ram Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust Sri Vishwaprasanna Theertha said that the donations received for the construction of the Ram Mandir had crossed Rs 1,000 crore.

The seer told reporters here on Wednesday that donors from various strata of society had come forward to donate money for the noble cause of constructing the Ram Mandir.

“The aim is not just to construct the Ram Mandir at Ayodhya, but to develop India as a Rama Rajya, the land of peace and harmony. We travelled all over Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu. The devotees have extended wholehearted support,” he said.

He said, not just Hindus but people, belonging to all religions, had contributed for the Ram Mandir construction. Currently, the excavation work at the site in Ayodhya was underway, he added.

The seer said that the drive to collect the money for the Ram Mandir by the trust was launched on January 15 and would continue till February 27.

On the caste-based reservation system, the seer said the reservation should support the people who are economically weak. It should not be a caste-based reservation, he said.

On the farmers’ protest, the seer stressed that the farmers should hold talks as they are invited by the government. The protest should not intend to harm the integrity of the country, he felt.
