Hospitals to have medicines in 3-4 days, says Sudhakar

This comes two days after DH reported that the procurement of medicinal drugs in the state was running late by a year

Health Minister Dr K Sudhakar has acknowledged the problem of delays in the procurement of medicinal drugs and has said that the taluk and district hospitals will have the medicines in three to four days.

This comes two days after DH reported that the procurement of medicinal drugs in the state was running late by a year.

The minister said a meeting will be scheduled on buying medicines.

"District health officers were given Rs 38 crore to buy medicines. Due to Covid, there is a delay in buying general medicines this year. Tenders have not been floated as the matter is before the court. Funds have been released to buy medicines locally. Medicines will be available at all taluk and district hospitals in three to four days," the health minister's office said in a statement.
