Karnataka reported its highest single-day spike in Covid-19 cases with 6,259 new infections, taking the total active cases to 73,846. The previous highest was on July 30 with 6,128.
Bengaluru Urban reported 2,035 cases and 30 deaths on Tuesday. As many as 15 districts reported cases in triple digits.
But on Tuesday, the state discharged more patients than it admitted. In all, 6,777 patients were discharged, taking the total number of recoveries to 69,272.
With a record 110 new deaths, the death toll reached 2,704. The total number of cases have reached 1.45 lakh.
The state conducted 42,458 tests, the highest in a single day in the past few days.
