Revenue and Skill Development Minister R V Deshpande on Saturday directed senior officers of various departments in Karwar district not to grant leaves to subordinates and relieve those who have been transferred till situation created by heavy rainfall comes under control.
He chaired a meeting to review damages caused by the rainfall in the district.
The Minister directed Hescom officers to repair electric poles and electric transformers immediately to ensure power supply.
The Hescom staff told the meeting that electric poles were damaged at Medini village which was in deep dense forest. Though it was difficult to transport the electric poles, the officers were working hard in that direction.
Deputy commissioner S S Nakul, Kumta MLA Dinakar Shetty, ZP president Jayashree Moger and vice-president Santosh Renake were present.
