Seven fresh coronavirus cases reported in Karnataka; Tally now 33

Karnataka on Monday reported seven more cases, which makes the state tally for COVID-19 33, third highest in the country after Maharashtra and Kerala.

Thirty one COVID-19 positive patients are in isolation at designated hospitals and are stable. One has died and one other has been discharged.

Twenty four of these patients are in Bengaluru. Three are in Kalaburagi, one each in Kodagu, Dharwad and Dakshina Kannada, and two each in Chikabalapur and Mysuru. 173 COVID-19 suspects are isolated in 21 districts.

Among the cases confirmed on Monday, patients 27, 28 and 33 have a travel history to Dubai.

Patient 27 is a 46-year-old man, a resident of Kerala, who had a travel history to Dubai and arrived in Bengaluru on March 22. At present, the patient is being isolated and treated at Mysuru. Three of his high risk primary contacts and four secondary contacts have been traced and are home-quarantined.

Patient 28 is a 38-year-old man who is a resident of Bengaluru, and travelled to Dubai and arrived in India on 17th March. The patient has been isolated at a designated hospital in Bengaluru. Patient 29 is a 41-year-old man who is a resident of Bengaluru. He arrived in India on 13th March via London. The patients have been isolated and are being treated at a designated hospital in Bengaluru.

Patient 30 is a 30-year-old woman who is a resident of Bengaluru, and wife of P17. She has been isolated and is being treated at a designated hospital in Bengaluru. Patient 31 is a 24-year-old man, a resident of Bengaluru, who had history of travelling to the UK and Dubai, and arrived in Bengaluru, on 18th March. The patient has been isolated at a designated hospital in Bengaluru.

Patient 32 is a 60-year-old man who is a resident of Bengaluru, and had history of travelling to Germany and arrived in Bengaluru on 17th March. The patient has been isolated at a designated hospital in Bengaluru. Patient 33 is a 22-year-old man, a resident of Kannur, Kerala, who had a history of travelling to Dubai and arrived in Bengaluru, on 22nd March. Presently, the patient has been isolated at a hospital in Bengaluru.

1,369 international passengers landed in Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) on Sunday out of which 14 were isolated and 1,355 were quarantined. Total number of international passengers who have landed and have been screened at KIA from March 17th to March 23rd are 10,773.

A total of 6,013 counseling sessions have been held till date.

A mammoth exercise of identifying overseas passenger who had landed at KIA before March 17th, was undertaken by BBMP that has stamped 5,000 people on Sunday.

46848600 and 080-66692000. A participant tested positive for COVID-19 (P23).

210 lines in 104 Arogya Sahayavani have been reserved for receiving calls related to COVID-19. On March 22nd, 23,338 calls were received and around 47,277 calls were auto-generated along with 949 manual calls.

Kerala COVID-19 patient

A 54-year-old man from Kasaragod in Kerala has been confirmed as Covid-19 positive. He landed at Mangaluru International Airport on March 10th at 5.30 pm by Air India Express flight. From there, he had travelled in his own vehicle to Kasaragod. On 18th March, he visited Kasturba Medical College, Attavar in Mangaluru, at 3 pm. He visited the reception and consulted a doctor. He had tea at KMC canteen and travelled in an auto to Medicity and brought medicines and returned to Kasaragod by KSRTC bus. Again he travelled to Mangaluru on 20th March in a private vehicle and visited a doctor and returned to Kasargod in a private vehicle.

The health department has requested passengers who travelled in the above said flight, and KSRTC Bus to report to 104 or other helpline numbers.
