Three held for Koppal suicide pact

Shekharayya Bidnal (48), who poisoned five members of his family before hanging himself at Metgal village in Koppal taluk, has reportedly left behind a death note. “My two daughters could not live a happy life after their wedding. I borrowed Rs 6 lakh loans from bank and self-help groups. I had applied for survey of four acre land, but the survey was not conducted. I have lost mental peace due to these developments,” the victim wrote in the note, according to the officer.

Meanwhile, the police have arrested Channabasayya Bidnal, Rudrayya Bidnal and Sharanayya Kavatagimath in connection with the incident.

Sharanayya is Shekharayya’s son-in-law, while two others are the victim’s brothers.
