Tungabhadra in full spate; flood threat in Hadagali

The road between Allipur and Hadagali has been inundated affecting vehicular traffic.
The water level in Tungabhadra is nearing danger level and Bylahunise, Nandigavi, Hirebannimatti, Chikkabannimatti, Magala, Rajavala, Kandagal are facing flood threat.

The drinking water in some of the villages has been contaminated and the residents are compelled use polluted river water.

On the other hand, the work on construction of barrage for Singataluru Lift Irrigation project has been completed.

The backwater level in Allipura village, which would be submerged for the project, is increasing with every passing day.

The incessant rains have further contributed for the raising the level.

Rehabilitation
The residents allege that the government is yet to take steps for their rehabilitation, in spite of their repeated requests.
With stagnant water all around, the village faces the threat of epidemic outbreak.
