Two men drowned in the sea after rescuing two youths from drowning at Dubbanasasi near here on Thursday.
The deceased are Pramod Venkataramana Naika, 53, and Amogh Ramakrishna Naika, 22, both hailing from Jamagod in Ankola.
Venkataramana’s sons Hrishikesh Pramod Naik and Sanam Pramod Naik, both 14, were swimming in the sea and started drowning. Venkataramana and Amogh pulled them out of the water successfully.
But they could not free themselves from the waves and drowned in the sea.
Hrishikesh and Sanan were treated at the local hospital. The police have registered a case and are investigating.
