An undertrial jumped from the third floor of a local court here on Saturday and was killed on the spot.
The victim has been identified as Chandru (29), a resident of Nagalapur in Chelur hobli in Gubbi taluk.
The Chelur police had registered a case against him for fatally attacking a six-year-old child last year.
He attended a hearing at additional sessions court-II on Saturday morning. He came out of the court hall after the judge postponed the hearing. Once he came out of the door, he jumped from the third floor and sustained massive internal injuries.
He was immediately taken to the district hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
