VTU doctorate conferred on Delhi Metro chief

Governor H R Bhardwaj, who is also the Chancellor of the university, presented gold medals and degrees to successful candidates in undergraduate, postgraduate and research courses.

The convocation address was delivered by Director of the Indian Institute of Science, Dr P Balaram. Higher Education Minister Dr V S Acharya and Vice Chancellor Prof H Maheshappa were present.

Gold medallists

Karthik H K of  Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering, Mysore, was presented with ten gold medals for securing the first rank in Bachelor of Engineering (Civil).
Abhijith P of the same college got six gold medals for securing the first rank in BE Electrical and Electronics.

Four gold medals each were presented to Manjesh M of  Bangalore Institute of Technology for having secured first rank in BE Mechanical Engineering; Mukundan N S of  PES Institute of Technology, Bangalore, for securing the first rank in BE Computer Science and Engineering; and Namratha B Swamy of the same college for securing the first rank in Electronics and Communication Engineering.

Three gold medals were presented to Ramya N of BMS College of Engineering, Bangalore, for having secured first rank in BE Information Science and Engineering; and Bindu M of the same college for getting the first rank in Instrumentation Technology.

Two gold medals were presented to Manjunathan of SJC Institute of Technollogy, Chikkaballapur, for getting the highest marks in Electronics and Communication Engineering and also for securing the highest marks among the students of the engineering colleges affiliated to VTU.
