Woman dies of shock during clash in Raichur

A woman fell down due to shock and died as police fired teargas shells, following a group clash in the city on Saturday. The deceased is Bisamma, 26, a resident of Thimmapurpet.   

Trouble started when the bike of Harish Yadav collided with the bike on which Ravi and Thimmaiah were riding at Veer Savarkar Circle on Friday afternoon. 

This led to a clash between two groups. Thimmaiah, Ravi and Yankanna were injured in the clash and have been admitted to a hospital for treatment. 

In the evening, a mob belonging to the group of those injured ransacked the Hyderabad Biriyani House hotel, broke furniture and glass. 

The hotel is owned by Harish Yadav’s brother Murali Yadav. 

Later, a finance agency owned by Murali in Amarkhed was set on fire. 

Groups then indulged in stone throwing at Thimmapurpet. The police resorted to lathi charge to disperse the mobs.
 When Bisamma, disturbed by the commotion, came out of the house, teargas shells were fired. 

Frightened, she fell down, sustained injuries and died. A labourer, she is survived by her husband Govinda and three young children. 

Police have tightened security at Thimmapurpet and Harijanwada.
