Yeddyurappa to tour state from February-end

Last Updated 21 March 2019, 08:33 IST

After making an unsuccessful bid at toppling the government for the last two to three months, the BJP state unit has decided to shift its focus on the Lok Sabha elections.

This comes after the latest audio tape fiasco, which has left both the central and the state leaders red-faced. Fearing that the party’s numbers might dwindle further from its present 17, BJP central leaders are said to have asked its state unit to let go of ‘Operation Kamala’ exercise for the time being, and concentrate its energies on election strategies and campaigning.

Sources said the BJP was forced to change its strategy, if at all it needed to reach its Mission 20 goal. Following this, BJP president B S Yeddyurappa has decided to take out a statewide tour from February end for 15 days to highlight the failures of the coalition administration, in the hope of creating a widespread movement against the Congress and the JD(S).
