The album takes its title,  Sarvam Brahmamayam from a krithi by Sadasiva Brahmendra in raga Madhuvanthi in adi tala. Sadasiva Brahmendra, is a saint who hails from Nerur village in Karur district of Tamil Nadu on the banks of river Cauvery. There is a Siva temple and ‘Bilva Vruksham’ on the banks of Cauvery, where his samadhi lies and is revered.

Of the eight krithis selected for this album some are by popular composers, while some are lesser known. There are two krithis by Purandara Dasa: Innu daya baarade (Kalyana Vasantha - Khanda chaapu) and Ee pariya sobagava (Raagamalika - Khanda chaapu). Other krithis Muthiah Bhagavathar’s Manomani (Shubha Panthuvarali - adi);  Muthuswamy Dikshitar’s Sree Ranganatham (Poorva Chandrika - adi); Thyagaraja’s Nagumomu (Aberi - adi) and C Rajagopalachari’s Kurai Ondrum (Raagamalika - adi). The album concludes with a Thillana (rhythmic piece in Carnatic music, generally performed at the end of a concert and widely used in dance performances) in Karnaranjani raga in adi tala, composed by Dr K S Raghunath.

Pallavi is accompanied by Charulatha Ramanujam on the violin, C Chaluvaraju (mridanga) and Srishaila (ghata).
