Apple App Store now supports Kannada, Telugu and more Indian languages

Last year, Apple introduced the iOS 18.4 update with support for 10 plus Indian languages in addition to Hindi on iPhone. Now, it has taken a step further by allowing app developers to integrate local dialects for user interface on Apple App Store.

To help developers expand the reach of their apps and games to more people worldwide — especially in India, App Store Connect now supports localised metadata for 11 new languages, bringing the total number of supported localisations to 50.

The new languages include Bangla, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Slovenian, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

Apple App Store now supports more Indian languages including Kannada, Telugu, Tamil and more.

With this initiative, the app creators get the option to provide localised metadata — such as the app name, description, screenshots, and more — in App Store Connect on all platforms-- iOS for iPhone, iPadOS for iPads,macOS for Mac computers, watchOS for Apple Watches, tvOS for AppleTV set-top-box and visionOS for VisionPro AR device.

In a related development, Apple is celebrating its 50th anniversary across its corporate offices and Apple Stores worldwide. 83-year-old Beatles star Paul McCartney is reportedly set to perform at Apple's headquarters in Cupertino, California, to celebrate the tech giant's 50th anniversary.

Here in Mumbai, Apple BKC unveiled a mural by Mumbai-based visual artist and illustrator Mira Felicia Malhotra. Musician artist Anuv Jain and actor Rohit Saraf also participated in the event.
