The scanning will include multiple images and videos of the face and the torso.</p><p>Like the FaceID or TouchID scanning feature, it will be used to register members of the house. And, if the person standing in front of the camera is not registered, it will instantly send a notification to the owner or family members, to let them know there is an intruder or a guest has arrived at the door.</p>.<p>Apple's FaceID is a gold standard for face-based biometric security systems on mobile phones in the Industry. The probability of a random person unlocking an iPhone using Face ID is approximately 1 in 1,000,000. </p><p>We expect Apple's latest patented technology for smart home cameras to have a similar accuracy rate.</p><p>In a related development, Apple is also planning to bring an all-new iPhone variant with a super slim profile, but racing against time to finalise the design.</p><p>Touted to be called as <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/technology/apple-may-bring-slim-iphone-air-series-to-replace-iphone-plus-variant-in-2025-3148506">iPhone 17 Air</a>, will come with just 5.5mm thickness.
