On Wednesday (April 1), there was confusion among millions of people on the X platform that the latter had disabled the video-sharing feature.

A X handle, which goes by the moniker USA News, citing fake news, posted that Elon Musk, miffed over US President Donald Trump's snub on a camera, disabled the video-sharing feature on the X platform.

Though it was flagged as a fake rumour in community notes on the X platform, it spread like wildfire globally. The video sharing feature was working all fine, but engagement farmers, who have a knack for spreading fake news to earn money on the X platform, run a campaign worldwide, including in India.

Millions of people fell for it and shared their concern on the X platform. Later, USA News, which was flagged with community notes, came up with a lame response; it was an April Fools' prank.
