Samsung Galaxy Buds4 Pro review: Stylish TWS earphones with exceptionally good ANC capabilities

Last month, the Galaxy Buds 4 series, along with the Galaxy S26 series phones, hit stores in India.

The Galaxy Buds4 Pro comes in four colours--black pink gold and white-- for Rs 22,999.

Design and build quality

The Galaxy Buds4 Pro sports an ergonomic and modernistic design called Buds blade, very unique among the rival brands.

Samsung engineers reportedly analysed data from hundreds of millions of global ear data points and ran more than 10,000 simulations to come up with this new-age computational design language.

Each bud weighs just 5.1g, and the case weighs 44.3g. The latter comes in a curved cubicle with a semi-transparent lid on the top, to show off the premium earbuds with a metallic finish.

The earphones come with an IP57 rating, meaning they can survive accidental water splashes. It comes in handy while doing heavy workouts at the gym or getting caught in the rain during a jog outdoors.

Thanks to smaller, optimised silicone tips, earphones securely fit the ears. The new stabilised blade design includes a premium metal finish and an engraved pinch.

As noted earlier, the stem features an ultra-premium metal finish. Additionally, it concave pinch on the sides, which house sensentive sensor. It can instantly register tap and sliding gestures to control settings such as volume or skip/pause/go back to the previous tracks, and answer calls or hang up.

It works wonderfully smoothly without any glaring issues to complain about.

Performance

Setting up the Buds4 Pro is pretty simple. Just open the lid, and the devices get listed in the Bluetooth tab on the mobile. It works with iPhone as well, but has limited features to explore.

Android phones with Galaxy Wearables get more customisation options to tailor the audio output to match their taste. However, the Samsung Galaxy device will provide the best experience, as the Buds4 Pro are deeply optimised to work seamlessly with less hassle, similar to how AirPods and iPhone pair.

Once you open the lid, the Buds4 Pro image pops instantly on the Samsung phone, gets paired in a few minutes, and will be ready for use.

It boasts Bluetooth 6.1, and this ensures stable wireless connectivity with a companion device.

The Buds4 Pro comes with a wider woofer, improved Active Noise Cancellation and Adaptive EQ for crisp sound across its 20Hz-40kHz frequency range.

The audio output is absolutely top-notch on Galaxy Buds4 Pro. It boasts of an advanced 2-way speaker paired with a dedicated Dual Amp. They are meticulously tuned to achieve high-fidelity sound across the full spectrum, delivering the best listening experience.

Add to that, with the equaliser, users get six presets -- Normal, Bass boost, Soft, Dynamic, Clear, Treble boost. There is also an option of a custom 9-band equaliser for the user to manually adjust the frequency to match their taste.

Also, the Buds4 Pro, which has six microphones, is programmed with an advanced Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) algorithm to instantly process and adapt to the ear shape and fit. This ensures earphones deliver a distraction-free listening experience even with annoying vehicle horns blaring nearby.

It does a wonderful job of reducing the engine sounds of the bus on a busy street. Even on phone calls, too, the ANC works amazingly well thanks to the Super Clear Call feature.

It should be noted that there is a Siren Detect feature as well. It comes in handy while wearing Buds4 Pro while walking near the roads. It can instantly sense a disturbance, like an emergency siren nearby and will automatically switch from ANC mode to ambient mode.

In select markets, Galaxy Buds4 Pro supports Galaxy AI-powered Interpreter for live language translation. For now, it supports Hindi to select international languages and vice versa in India.

With Buds4 Pro, users can summon Bixby, Google Gemini and Perplexity on Android phones for any queries.

As far as battery life is concerned, it can last a whole week with the cover case, with an average listening time of one to two hours per day. Each bud comes with a 61mAh cell capacity, and the charging case features 530mAh capacity.

With ANC on, Buds4 Pro can last for six hours on a stretch and with ANC off, seven hours. During phone calls, it can last for four hours with ANC on, and without ANC, it can go for another extra hour.

The Galaxy Buds4 Pro delivers on all key fronts, including design, build quality, battery life, and ANC capabilities to command its premium price tag.
