Samsung unveils Galaxy S26 series with advanced AI features

South Korean consumer electronics major Samsung on Wednesday (February 25) unveiled the new premium Android-powered Galaxy S26 series .

It comes in three variants-- a top-end Galaxy S26 Ultra, a mid-premium segment phone-- Galaxy S26 Plus and a compact flagship Galaxy S26.

Depending on select markets, Samsung is offering the device either with Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 or Samsung Exynos 2600 silicon, built on a 2nm fabrication process.

.Google blocked 266 million risky app installations on Android phones in 2025. In India, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is offered with a specially developed 'Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy' chipset, custom optimised to smoothly run Galaxy AI features, support AAA gaming titles, 8K video recording and other heavy-duty tasks.

Whereas the Galaxy S26 and S26 Plus come with the Exynos 2600 chipset.

Beyond raw power, Samsung has incorporated several value-added features, such as Privacy Display, which is exclusive to the Galaxy S26 Ultra. When using the phone, the content on the screen will be visible only to the owner. Any form of content, be it a text notification, a video or a photo, can only be viewed from the direct line of sight of the user. Prying eyes of people on the side will not be able see any content, but a black screen.

Besides Gemini AI, Samsung will offer the customers the option to use Perplexity AI to power the Galaxy AI features.

. Perplexity AI will be deeply embedded across select Samsung apps — including Samsung Notes, Clock, Gallery, Reminder and Calendar, as well as select third-party apps. More apps will be supported later in the year.

Users will be able to summon Perplexity through a dedicated voice wake phrase, 'Hey Plex'. They will also have the option to use Perplexity AI via quick-access controls such as pressing and holding the side button, making contextual assistance easy to reach when needed.

Also, Galaxy S26 series will come with the most advanced AI-powered editing tools to remove, add objects and do more, to deliver an enhanced photography experience for the owners.

. For instance, the Galaxy S26 Ultra comes with wider apertures for improved low- light photography and enhanced Nightography Video for vibrant, clear footage in dim conditions. Its upgraded Super Steady technology ensures stable framing during video capture. Its AI ISP improvements extend to the selfie camera, delivering natural skin tones and finer details in mixed lighting. Notably, the device is the first Galaxy to support the Advanced Professional Video (APV) standard for efficient compression of high-quality video.

Furthermore, the Galaxy S26 series features an upgraded Bixby as a conversational device agent, making it more intuitive and easier than ever to interact with Galaxy devices. Users can navigate their devices and adjust settings using natural language, without the need for exact terminology or commands. This will come in really handy for senior citizens and non-tech-savvy customers.

The series upgrades Al editing tools, adds real-time features such as Now Brief and enhanced Circle to Search, and, as noted earlier, deeper integration with agents like Bixby, Gemini and Perplexity.

Like the previous Galaxy S series, the security aspect has been covered by Samsung. The devices come with Private Album, Knox Matrix protection, and more.

The standard Galaxy S26 comes with a 6.3-inch display, 12GB RAM, 256GB/512GB storage and a 4,300mAh battery with 25W wired charging, 15W wireless charging capability, triple camera module-- 50MP main + 50MP ultra-wide sensor + 10MP Telephoto lens with LED flash on the back and a 12MP front camera.

The S26 Plus sports a bigger 6.7-inch display, 12GB RAM, 256GB/512GB storage and a 4,900mAh battery with 45W wired fast charging, 20W wireless charging capability, a triple camera module-- 50MP main + 50MP ultra-wide sensor + 10MP Telephoto lens with LED flash on the back and a 12MP front camera.

The S26 Ultra flaunts a massive 6.9-inch Dynamic LTPO AMOLED 2X display, 16GB RAM, 256GB/512GB/1TB storage and a 5,000mAh battery with faster 60W charging capability, 25W wireless charging capability, five camera module-- 200MP main + 50MP Periscope sensor + 50MP ultra-wide sensor + 10MP secondary Telephoto lens with LED flash on the back and a 32MP front camera.

. All three Galaxy S26 series phones will run Android 16-based One UI 8.5 OS. They will get seven years of Android OS updates and security patches up to 2032.

Besides the new Galaxy S26 series, Samsung also announced the new Galaxy Buds4 Pro and Galaxy Buds4. As you can see from the cover photos, they come with a unique ergonomic design language.

. The Buds4 Pro comes with a wider woofer, improved Active Noise Cancellation and Adaptive EQ for crisp sound across its 20Hz-40kHz frequency range.

. Both models support Super Clear Call and integrate with AI agents such as Bixby, Google Gemini and Perplexity, and come in White and Black matte finishes.

. The Galaxy S26 series comes in shared colour options including Cobalt Violet, White, Black and Sky Blue.

The prices of the new Galaxy S26 series phones for the Indian market will be revealed soon.

. Samsung Galaxy S26 series price in India:

Galaxy S26 Ultra is available three configurations-- 12GB RAM + 256GB storage, 12GB RAM + 512GB storage, and 16GB RAM + 1TB storage -- for Rs 1,39,999, Rs 1,59,999 and Rs 1,89,999, respectively.

Galaxy S26 Plus is available two configurations-- 12GB RAM + 256GB storage, and 12GB RAM + 512GB storage -- for Rs 1,19,999, and Rs 1,39,999, respectively.

Galaxy S26 is available two configurations-- 12GB RAM + 256GB storage, and 12GB RAM + 512GB storage -- for Rs 87,999, and Rs 1,07,999, respectively.

Interested fans and prospective consumers have to pay a nominal fee of Rs 999 (refundable) to register for Samsung's new phone. The customers will be eligible for benefits worth Rs 2,699 and also get an assured extra cash bonus for the exchange deal to trade in the old phone for the Galaxy S26 series.

Also, those who buy the 256GB storage variant, they will get a free upgrade to the 512GB storage model at no extra cost. For instance, the price of the 256GB model of Galaxy S26 Ultra is Rs 1,39,999 and the 512GB variant costs Rs 1,59,999. The customer can get the latter for Rs 39,999 only and save Rs 20,000.

Samsung Galaxy Buds4 series price details:

The Galaxy Buds4 Pro (black, pink gold and white) costs Rs 22,999 and the standard Galaxy Buds4 (black and white) is priced at Rs 16,999.
