‘Theatre Yatra’ to be held in Kota today

Namma Tuluver Kala Sanghatane, Mudradi is organising ‘Theatre Yatra’, through the screening of ‘Dashanana Swapnasiddhi’ on Sunday, July 29 at Karanth Theme Park in Kota.

Namma Tuluver Kala Sanghatane, Mudradi President Sukumar Mohan said that the ‘Theatre Yatra’ will travel all over the state.

The programme will be inaugurated by the opposition leader in the upper house Kota Srinivas Poojary.

The drama is based on the epic novel of late poet Kuvempu, ‘Ramayana Darshanam’.

Film director and actor Nagendra Shah praised Namma Tuluver Kala Sanghatane, Mudradi and said that the organisation has immensely contributed to the promotion of theatre in this part of the region. Mudradi is a village and the entire village is converted as the theatre village by the Sanghatane.

He added he is not in a mood to act in Tulu theatre plays and said he is currently happy in direction.

He said that language experts should look into the making of the plays in local languages, otherwise it will affect the base of the language.
