'Udupi to get 2 KSRTC bus shelters'

Transport Minister D C Thammanna said that the temple town will get two full-fledged KSRTC bus shelters—one for the buses running within city limits and the other for long distance buses.

Speaking to reporters after inspecting the progress of works on Friday, the minister said that the main bus stop will be built at Bannanje and will be constructed at the cost of Rs 31.34 crore.

The sophisticated bus stop will accommodate two-floor commercial complexes. Udupi KSRTC depot would also be renovated and concreted at the cost of Rs 1 crore. The city service bus stop (JNNURM bus stop) will be built at the cost of Rs 4 crore.

He added that the public will be offered hassle-free transport facilities. He also visited Byndoor KSRTC bus stop and inspected the ongoing works.
