Centre should take care of global tender for Covid vaccines: Satyendar Jain

Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain on May 14 said the central government earlier exported vaccines to different countries and is now asking to buy Covid-19 vaccines floating global tenders. “This is a weird thing that approx 6.5 crore vaccines were exported to different countries but now central government is asking to buy vaccines from other countries floating global tenders,” the minister said.

“We are having three types of vaccines allowed in the nation-Covaxin, Covisheild, Sputnik V and if there is a need of global tender, it should be done by the central government. The country could manufacture vaccines without any problem,” he added.
