Sec 16 and 18 of UAPA have been invoked against the accused involved in the Coimbatore car blast case, informed Coimbatore Police Commissioner V Balakrishnan.
Speaking to media persons, Balakrishnan said, “We've invoked sec 16 & 18 of UAPA. Material seized from the deceased's house were ingredients for making low-explosive bombs - like potassium nitrate, sulphur, charcoal & so on. It indicates his intention to make such bombs.”
“Foreign experts have taken samples from the blast & Police have sent the samples for examination by the lab. Once it is out, we will come to know whether an explosive was used and what kind of explosive was used,” he added.
