Rain, cold wave grapple Delhi; homeless people take refuge in night shelters

With rain lashing several parts of Delhi and the temperature dipping further, homeless took refuge in night shelters in Rain Basera near Lodhi Road area. The Covid precautionary measures have been taken at the shelter. “Facilities like blankets, hot water, two-time meals are provided here. All facilities are free," said Rishipal, Caretaker. When asked about medical facilities, he said, “Today many people are coming here because of the rain. There are medicines, sanitisers and temperature scanners. Covid rules are followed here. We have an ambulance facility in case of an emergency.”
