Traditional flower design ‘Pookalam’ arranged in Kozhikode indoor stadium to celebrate Onam

As part of Onam celebrations, traditional flower design- 'Pookalam' was arranged in Kozhikode indoor stadium on September 08. The flower rangoli, sometimes referred to as the ‘Pookalam,’ is one of the highlights of Onam’s most notable features. It features the rangoli pattern that is used on this occasion at the gates of homes and temples. The 10-day festival is celebrated to honour the memory of the King Mahabali, who according to the legends is said to visit Kerala on the auspicious occasion. The festival is an occasion for family and friends to get together and indulge in traditional games, music and dance and partake in a grand feast, the 'Onasadya'.
