Raigad landslide: Maharashtra government announces Rs 5 lakh aid to kin of deceased

The Urban Development and PWD Minister of Maharashtra Eknath Shinde visited Raigad district following the incident of landslide. So far, 33 dead bodies have been recovered. The Maharashtra Government has decided to give Rs 5 lakh compensation to the families of deceased. While speaking to ANI, Shinde said, “33 dead bodies have been recovered while 52 are still missing. The rescue operation will resume in the morning. A total of 32 houses have been destroyed. The families of the deceased to receive Rs 5 lakh compensation while injured will be treated by the administration. The rehabilitation work in the affected areas to be carried out as well.”
