JOIN USFollowing a report that a woman has been living in a toilet at Mahaveer Nagar in Venoor, beat police Ramya visited the spot and shifted the woman to her sister’s house at Venoor.
SP Ravikanthe Gowda said Saraswathi’s (67) husband and children live in Chikkamagaluru. The police have asked her husband and son to come on Sunday. In case the woman fails to return with her fmaily, she will be provided shelter at Guru Seva Chaithanya Trust in Katipalla, said the SP.
Classmates assault boy
A student suffered injuries after his classmates assaulted him, at a private school at Bastikodi in Vamadapadavu on Saturday. The injured is Abhishek, a class 8 student and is the son of Rathnakar Poojary of Mavinakatte.
Rathnakar Poojary said that three of his classmates kicked his stomach and assaulted him in a classroom on Saturday afternoon. He was rushed to a hospital in Thumbe, but was later shifted to a private hospital in Mangaluru.
When the victim’s grandfather Janardhan Poojary questioned the school authorities, they neglected the issue. Rathnakar Poojary, father of the victim has filed a complaint at Poonjalkatte Police Station.
Man kills sister
A woman who was injured by her brother for refusing to give him money, died at KMC Hospital on Saturday.
According to police, the deceased is identified as Vijaya Bhandari, aged 48 years. The accused Annappa Bhandary attacked and assaulted the deceased using a sharp knife on July 22, when the deceased refused to give him money. The severely wounded woman was immediately rushed to KMC Hospital in Manipal, but she succumbed to her injuries.
The arrested was produced before a court and remanded in judicial custody.
Youth dies in Oman
An engineer from Koni of Kundapur died in a road accident, at Oman.
The deceased is Rajendra Shetty, son of Sunanda Shetty and Chandra couple in Koni. He had been working in Oman for the last four months.
