Woman from Udupi dies in Saudi Arabia

A nurse from Kuthayr near Shirva, working in a hospital in Saudi Arabia, has died under mysterious circumstances.

The deceased is Hazel Jyotsna Mathias (28), wife of Ashwin Mathias, a resident of Daddu in Baggathota Road, Kuthyaru. It is said that she had spoken to her husband on July 19. The authorities from Saudi informed the family about her death on July 21. However, the reason for the death is not known.

The family has now contacted MLC Ivan D’Souza, Udupi MLA Raghupati Bhat and the External Affairs Ministry seeking more details about her death.

The family members have given the power of attorney to a known person in Saudi Arabia to procure the body. However, the arrival of the body is likely to be delayed due to holidays.
