JB Pritzker expressed his condolences for the victims and their families in a statement Monday evening, and said his administration was monitoring the situation.</p><p>“Our community lost a group of bright and innocent young people with their whole lives ahead of them,” Pritzker said. “Parents said goodbye to their kids this morning not knowing it would be the last time. My heart is heavy for these families and the unimaginable grief they’re experiencing.”</p><p>US representatives of Illinois also went on social media to express their sympathies. Rep. Mary Miller, a Republican, said on the social platform X, “My heart is with the entire community.” Rep.
