Iran wants ceasefire in Lebanon, release of its blocked assets before talks begin in Pakistan
Israeli and Lebanese officials are expected to meet in Washington next week as US President Donald Trump seeks to calm weeks of Israeli fighting with Iran-backed Hezbollah.
Two of the measures mutually agreed upon between the parties have yet to be implemented: a ceasefire in Lebanon and the release of Iran’s blocked assets prior to the commencement of negotiations.
These two matters must be fulfilled before negotiations begin.
