<p>Islamabad: <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/world/pakistan/pakistan-raises-petrol-prices-by-43-amid-us-iran-war-3955023">Pakistan</a>'s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Friday spoke with Saudi counterpart Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud and discussed the five-point peace plan proposed by Islamabad and Beijing to end the conflict in West Asia. </p><p>The peace proposal was put forward on Tuesday after Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held talks with Dar, who undertook a one-day visit to Beijing to discuss regional developments.</p><p>Dar, also the Deputy Prime Minister of Pakistan, called the Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia on the phone to discuss the regional situation, according to a statement by the Foreign Office.</p><p>"The two leaders exchanged views on the latest developments in the regional situation, emphasising the urgent need for de-escalation and dialogue," it said.</p>.West Asia conflict | Pakistan ready to host US-Iran talks: Foreign Office.<p>"The Pak-China Five-Point Initiative for peace in the Gulf and Middle East was also discussed," it added.</p><p>Both leaders reaffirmed the strong Pakistan–Saudi Arabia relationship and agreed to remain in close contact.</p><p>The five-point peace plan included the immediate cessation of hostilities, initiation of peace talks as soon as possible, ensuring the safety of non-military targets and safety of navigation, and safeguarding the primacy of the UN Charter.</p><p>Before leaving for China, Dar also held a quadrilateral meeting with foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Turkiye and Egypt in Islamabad.</p><p>Pakistan has been making an effort to end the US war against Iran, but so far without any success.</p>
