'Blockade is absolutely destroying Iran': Trump claims US is winning the 'war by a lot'

The United States President Donald Trump declared on Tuesday that the US Naval blockade of Iranian ports and vessels in the Strait of Hormuz is "absolutely destroying Iran" and the US is "winning the war by a lot"

The United States blockade has now become a point of major contention between the two countries. The tensions have escalated to such proportions that Iran is refusing to attend the second round of peace negotiations in Islamabad.

On Monday, US attacked and seized and Iranian vessel  in the Gulf as part of its naval blockade.

Taking to his own social media Truth Social, Trump declared that he is wining the war "BY A LOT and things are going very well". He also lambasted US' prominent media agencies like New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and The Washington Post.

"The Failing New York Times, the absolutely horrendous and disgusting Wall Street Journal, or the now almost defunct, fortunately, Washington Post, you would actually think we are losing the War," Trump wrote.

He went on to say that the enemy (Iran) "is confused, because they get these same Media “reports.”

"The enemy is confused, because they get these same Media “reports,” and yet they realize their Navy has been completely wiped out, their Air Force has gone onto darker runways, they have no Anti Missile or Anti Airplane Equipment, their former leaders are mostly gone (This has been, in addition to everything else, Regime Change!)," he wrote.

The US President termed these organisations as "The Anti-America Fake News Media"

He also lauded regarding their naval blockade saying, "THE BLOCKADE, which we will not take off until there is a “DEAL,” is absolutely destroying Iran. They are losing $500 Million Dollars a day, an unsustainable number, even in the short run."

On Tuesday, reports claimed that US Vice President J D Vance will be heading for Pakistan to take part in the second round of peace talks. However, Iran still has not confirmed their presence. Their foreign ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei said they have no plans for negotiations.
